F39 Tuning
BMW's X2 xDrive28i, X2 M35i, 2018–2023. Powered by the B48 engine family.
Stage pricing for the F39
Cooling, downpipe, fueling — the ceiling worth chasing on factory turbos.
Build this stage Stage 2 methodologyBigger fueling, often a hybrid or Phantom turbo. Per-car.
Build this stage Stage 3 methodologyThe F39 is BMW's first-generation X2 — the 2018 to 2023 coupe-profile crossover built on the front-wheel-drive (or xDrive) UKL platform around the B48 turbo-four. F39 tuning sits in a quieter corner of our catalog: the X2 was never a core tuner-target body, and the transverse-engine UKL cars sit outside the rear-drive 2/3/4 family our volume work centers on. The B48 underneath, though, is the same engine we calibrate every week in other chassis.
What we tune on the F39: the xDrive28i and the M35i, both running the B48. Both are BM3-native, which means the calibration loads on the factory DME through Bootmod3 with no piggyback and nothing spliced into the harness. We write Stage 1 for the platform, and Stage 2 where the transverse engine bay and supporting hardware allow it. Stage 1 is calibration-only and is where almost every X2 owner should start, since it asks nothing of the car beyond a flash and good fuel.
Stock peak on the xDrive28i is 248 hp / 258 lb-ft. Stage 1 picks up real gains on factory hardware, the same way the B48 responds in every other application it powers. We will tell you plainly when a stage is more than the rest of the car wants.
Below: every tune and part we ship that fits the F39. If you have an xDrive28i or an M35i and the rest of the BMW tuning world has been ignoring the platform, the B48 under the hood reads the same as it does anywhere else.

Set vehicleBefore you tune.
Will my dealer flag the tune at service?
The bootmod3 flash is non-destructive and reversible. Revert to stock before a dealer appointment and the ECU is back to factory in a few minutes; re-flash after service. We document the revert step in writing so the next person opening your file knows what's there.
Is it safe for the engine?
Every tune we ship has been datalogged on the car it was written for. We look at knock counts, fuel trims, boost behavior, and intake temps before we sign off. If the numbers don't sit right, we revise. That review and the revision policy are built into what the tune costs.
How long until I have a working tune?
Most calibrations turn around in a few days. We log, review, and revise before anything ships — we would rather get it right than get it out fast.
Can I go back to stock?
Yes. bootmod3 supports a stock revert that returns the ECU to factory calibration in under five minutes. The flash is non-destructive — nothing in the BMW DME is permanently modified. Most owners revert before trade-in.
