ABOUT SPONSORED DRIVERS
PEOPLE WE BACK

Sponsored drivers.

The drivers we sponsor — pro-am, club, time-attack, sliding events. Their cars run our calibrations. The feedback loop is part of how we keep the tunes honest in conditions a dyno can't replicate.

Drives: F22 230i

Jordy's the first driver we've put the Esse Werks name behind. A South Bend, Indiana kid now living in Miami and working in tech, he spends every free weekend he can find sideways — taking his F22 to as many trackdays as the calendar allows.

The 2-series is a purpose-built drift car, sorted the way the discipline actually demands rather than the way that looks good in photos: coilovers, a front angle/lock kit for the steering range drift needs (Wisefab and its kind are the BMW-drift standard), a hydraulic handbrake, a locked rear differential, solid subframe and differential bushings, and adjustable rear toe/camber arms to dial the geometry in. Most of it Jordy fitted himself in his own garage.

The power side is full bolt-on around a hybrid Phantom S2 turbo, running our Stage 3+ calibration on an E30 blend, turned all the way up. Built like that, an N55 of this spec lands right around 500 wheel horsepower — enough to hold big angle and keep the rears lit lap after lap.

When he's not chasing the next DIY mod, Jordy's a dyed-in-the-wool F1 fan — you'll catch him at the local race-weekend events about as often as the track.
