The MINI you chose, made more itself.

You chose a MINI on purpose. We are not here to turn it into something else — we are here to give back the sharp, eager response the factory smoothed over for emissions and cold-start. A conservative calibration that is quieter when you want it and sharper when you ask, reversible before a dealer visit, and built around the JCW character rather than against it. When conservative is not the brief, the build path is below.

WHY MINI HERE

A MINI home, with a workshop behind it.

The MINI side of the shop is not a side gig. We do not keep a MINI specialist and a BMW specialist — we keep one team that calibrates BMW Group cars, and the F-series Cooper S and JCW run the same B48 four-cylinder family as a 230i or a 330i. That is here as reassurance, not a headline: your Cooper S or JCW gets the same datalog scrutiny, the same documented revision log, and the same reversible flash we run on every B48 in Boca Raton.

It still drives like a daily.

We tune the part of the map you actually live in — throttle response and the low-and-mid-range — and we leave knock control, fuelling under load, and temperature limits where the factory put them. The engine room keeps the margin it needs on a hot afternoon, in traffic, with the air conditioning on.

Reversible before a dealer visit.

We calibrate over bootmod3, so the car can be returned to its exact factory file before service and flashed back after. We will not tell you a tune is "undetectable" — no honest shop can promise that. What we can say is that the conservative path is built for owners who intend to keep their dealer, their coverage, and their resale story intact. The full warranty detail lives in our warranty essay.

It still sounds like a MINI.

No pops, no bangs, no burble-on-overrun map on a car you commute in — and if you ask for one, we will talk you out of it for a daily. It idles and cold-starts like the factory car because we leave those maps alone. A well-built conservative tune does not announce itself. That is the point.

Honest about your gearbox.

Is this safe for my gearbox is the right question, and the honest answer depends on which MINI you have. We build to a torque target appropriate to the car in front of us, and if your specific gearbox is the limiting factor on how far we will go, we will tell you before you spend. "We won't go" is an answer we are comfortable giving.

IF YOU WANT MORE

The build path, when conservative isn't the brief.

Some owners read all of that and want to know where the ceiling is. The B48 in a MINI responds to the same staged approach we run on every B48 in the shop: Stage 1 on stock hardware, Stage 2 with charge-path and cooling, and E85 to raise the knock threshold when the trade-offs are named up front. When the stock-frame turbo is the limit, the Phantom S1 is the drop-in upgrade that picks up where the factory unit runs out of breath, and the Phantom S2 is the path for owners chasing the top of what a built MINI can do. We are not going to print a peak number for either — the figure that matters is the one your car makes on the dyno, and that is what we document.

PROVEN

Why the MINI is the same craft.

Same engine family

The F-series Cooper S and JCW run the BMW B48 — same block, same management, same calibration approach we use on the 230i / 330i. Not a separate craft.

Same workshop, same dyno

MINI customer cars get the same datalog process, the same revision policy, and the same documented change log as every BMW that comes through Boca Raton.

Reversible before a dealer visit

Stock revert before service, re-flash after — same reversible bootmod3 flow we run on the BMW side. Flashes back to stock for any dealer visit — then back to your tune after.
