SPOOL PERFORMANCE

Spool Performance B58 Gen1 Exhaust Cam — Fuel-Lobe Machining (+40% HPFP)

$1,415.00

Spool Performance fuel-lobe machining for the Gen1 B58 exhaust camshaft — a re-profiled HPFP drive lobe that raises direct-injection fuel volume by about 40%. The B58's high-pressure pump is driven off a lobe on the exhaust cam; Spool re-profiles that lobe with more lift on CNC live-tooling lathes, then re-hardens and polishes it, so the pump delivers more fuel per revolution.

What it is

A machining service on the exhaust camshaft, not an off-the-shelf part. Combined with Spool FX pumps and matched injectors, it pushes the direct-injection ceiling north of 900 whp on full E85 and past 1,000 whp on E50 or less. Only compatible with Spool Performance FX pumps.

Two ways to buy

We source the cam — we supply the core and return a finished, ready-to-install camshaft. I provide my core — send us your exhaust cam and we machine, re-harden, polish, and return it (about two business days in the shop). Choose above.

Where it fits in the build

A fuel-capacity mod on the high-pressure side, for big-power E85/E50 B58 builds already running Spool fueling. We tune the engine to the fuel system.

Fitment

Gen1 B58 (F-chassis) — M240i, 340i, 440i, 540i and related Gen1 B58 applications. Confirm your chassis in the selector.

WHY WE SHIP SPOOL PERFORMANCE
Spool Performance builds high-pressure fuel pumps for the builds that have outrun what the factory pump can flow. On a big-power direct-injection BMW, fuel supply is often the actual ceiling, and the engine will pull rail pressure long before it runs out of airflow. We ship Spool because their HPFP upgrades are aimed squarely at that ceiling, restoring the supply margin a high-output calibration depends on. This is upper-end fueling hardware — the part you add when the dyno shows the pump, not the turbo, is what is holding the number back.
