CSF stepped-core front-mount intercooler for the N55 — a direct air-to-air upgrade for the F2x/F3x and F87 M2. Unlike the water-to-air cars, the N55 cools its charge air with a front-mount intercooler; the OEM core heat-soaks under repeat pulls and bleeds power as intake temps rise.

What CSF changes

CSF's stepped-core design fills the available opening more completely than a flat core — they call it the largest drop-in intercooler in the class. Bar-and-plate core, rounded cast end-tanks, developed in CSF's wind tunnel and 3D-scanned for fit. CSF measures intake temps about 38°F (21°C) lower than stock after three consecutive pulls. Fully reversible to OEM.

Finishes

We spec these with a Thermal Heat Dispersion coating by default — an emissivity coating that helps the core radiate heat away, which is exactly what you want on a cooler. Prefer to skip it? Raw or Black are available for less. Choose above.

N55 — F30/F31/F34 335i, F32/F33/F36 435i, F22/F23 M235i, and F87 M2 (N55, 2016–2018). Confirm your chassis in the selector.

CSF builds the radiators, heat exchangers, and charge coolers we use when the factory cooling stack can no longer keep up with the load a tuned car puts on it. The cores are engineered to factory fitment, so the upgrade goes in at the OEM locations without fabrication. On the heat-exchanger-cooled engines, the charge cooler is often the single highest-leverage cooling part, and CSF's units carry the thermal capacity to keep intake temps stable through repeated pulls. We ship CSF where a build needs more cooling than stock without giving up clean, factory-style integration.
