B48 Performance Aluminum Oil Filter Housing
The oil filter housing is a critical engine component as the engine’s coolant and oil pass through it. If this part fails or leaks, it can leave you stranded or even worse, cause catastrophic engine failure pretty rapidly. This full oil filter housing unit is an aluminum version of the MINI factory CFRP oil filter housing that will develop leaks, cracks or internal breakdown or damage over time.
Designed to be more resilient to the hostile engine bay environment of a high boost, high power B46/B48 engine. Provides additional cooling due to the metal housing acting as a heatsink itself in addition to the heat exchanger already present.
With many “metal” versions of this parts showing up in the market, the Esse Werks High Performance Aluminum Oil Filter Housing is fundamentally different: our aluminum oil filter housing is low-void meaning there are no air bubbles in the metal part from poor casting, the gaskets are BMW MINI Genuine gaskets and the filter is a Genuine Mann or Mahle filter. There is no other MINI B48 aluminum oil filter housing on the market this high quality!
This unit mounts to the front side of the engine under the intake manifold. We recommend Blue Loctite on all bolts during installation. We also recommend using your favorite filter brand as this comes with a generic stock aftermarket filter.
